Even though this review is a few weeks late, we have to say that it is SO NICE TO BE EXCITED ABOUT A ROCK BAND AGAIN!!!!

When Contraband came out in 2004 it totally blew us away. Every single song - start to finish - is a SMASH! 2007, VR gives us Libertad. Again, every single song - start to finish - a fucking SMASH! Two of the most brilliant rock albums we have ever heard. To see these guys live on a concert stage redefines what rock-n-roll is all about. So much individual talent and as a group you can't touch this band. It was nice to hear the Guns and STP stuff BUT we wanted to hear more Velvet Revolver. Lets hope this band stays what it is - VR - and say farewell to GNR and STP. This show was so damn good that the next day we snapped up tickets for the Connecticut show the following week. Believe us, another powerful night of pure rock brilliance! If there was a way possible for us to follow this tour across the United States, we would!!!! Heres hoping Scott, Slash, Duff, Matt, and Dave find their way back to New England before the tour ends. Boston Loves You!!!! PLEASE CONSIDER RELEASING THIS TOUR ON A LIVE DVD/CD. WE WILL BE THE FIRST IN LINE TO BUY IT. DON'T MISS THIS TOUR!!! Thanks VR!

Well VR - It has been 4 days since seeing you live and my voice is now finally coming back! What a show! I had a blast! I have a "set list" but forgive me about the wrong order of the songs: Let it roll
She builds Quick machines
Get out the door
The Last Fight
Gravedancer
Slither
Fall to Pieces
Big Machine
Do it for the kids
Suckertrain blues
Interstate Love Song
Patience
It's so easy
She Mine
Vaseline
Mr. Brownstone
and that STP song I thing it's sex type thing - I call it the "here I come..I come..I come... song"
Also, they may have played Set me free but I can't remember if they did (I know I heard it live before as this was my 4th VR concert). My apologies to everyone sitting in the front section on the right as I was quite the loud concert-goer (takes a lot of screaming to lose your voice for a few days) - I can't wait for VR to come back to MA - best of luck on the rest of the tour - the fans appreciate all your hard work and great music. I totally lost it when you started playing Interstate Love Song...incredible to hear that live I tell ya. For those of you reading this who haven't seen VR perform live - WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!???!! Do yourself the favor of a night of rock n roll at it's finest.

Unbelievable show by VR the GNR and STP covers were amazing and their original stuff sounds just like the album. Scott is an awesome frontman and VR is my favorite live band ever.

Alice in chains played awesome as well great setlist for them they played "them bones" "rain when i die" "man in a box" "would?" 'down in a hole" and closed things off with "rooster"

Kill Hannah also rocked they played a sick cover of billy idols "rebel yell" and closed things off with "i wanna be a kennedy"

Awesome...

That was the third time I've seen Velvet Revolver and it was the most impressive of the three. It was suprising to hear so many covers but I loved them. The new tunes sounded great and Scotts crazy dancing was entertaining.

--the song is "straight outta compton" by N.W.A.

Alice in Chains was also excellent. The singer was better than I expected and Jerry Cantrell was a thrill to see live. All the tunes sounded great.

I could have done without Kill Hannah

Not so much...

I actually went into the show a pretty big velvet revolver fan...but after going to the show...it was actually pretty mediocre. I mean they sounded great if they were a guns and roses cover band but the stp stuff sounded horirble (except for weilands vocals of course) and even a lot of the velvet revolver stuff sounded choppy. It just seemed kind of funny that slash played the g'n'r stuff perfectly but the velvet revolver songs sounded like they rehearsed one day before heading off for the tour and that was it. Like I said, I love the new velvet revolver album, but after the show last night, its just clear to me that weiland really needs to do whatever it takes to get back with the deleo brothers and the rest of the band should just get an axl sound alike and just call the new band "GUNS" or something and play g n r songs, pretty much the way alice in chains is doing it. (Or obviously reconcile with Axl, but good luck with that)

Great show Alice in Chains sounded excellent and a great job done by the new singer they did not miss a beat. Velvet Revolver came on and I thought it took them a song or two to warm up and get the sound right but after that they sounded awesome Sorry GNR fans but Scott Weiland has a better singing voice than Axle and I like Axle alot. It was a suprise to see Great Woods only half filled though oh well They missed a great show

I had a great time. Thanks to Velvet Revolver and Alice In Chains for putting on an awesome show!

I was a bit shocked about the size of the crowd. Only half the Tweeter Center was filled. Oh well, every elses loss.

I was very impressed with AIC with the different lead singer. He sang the songs very well without trying to sound like Layne. They played pretty much everything from their greatest hits album, opened with 'Them Bones' and closed with 'The Rooster'.

VR was incredible live. Highlight was them playing 'Patience'. I never got to see GNR live, so it was great to see that song performed live. Does any one know the artist that sang the rap song that was used for their intro?

OK, I have to say that this was a Top 5 Concert All Time show for me. And I've seen many "great" live bands - Floyd, Aerosmith, U2, Bon Jovi, and Velvet Revolver twice before. Despite not being a sold out show (Boston and New England you should be ashamed of yourselves! This is arguably the best true rock band in America right now, with what I anticipate will be a multi-Grammy award winning album out there) the energy and volume was outstanding. The band came out like a house of fire with Let it Roll, Sucker Train Blues, Superhuman and whipped everyone into a frenzy. It really was insane.

They fired on all cylinders and sounded better than ever. I was very, very impressed and am still buzzing. Best show of the summer! Can't wait for them to come back!
