Let me start by saying AIC knocked my sox off!!! They were amazing, and my friends were saying how brave VR is to go on after them, but that they were one of a few bands that could pull it off. Then VR came out and took about 6 songs for Weiland to get warmed up. The second half of the set was much better, but even then, he was late on almost every line of every song...even STP's Vasoline. It was disturbing wondering if the band (which was flawless) would try to match Matt's steady beat or try to accomodate Scott's mistakes. I took a friend/big GNR fan who was skeptical of VR to see them that night to prove him wrong (since I've seen them 3 times before and they were probably the best 3 concerts I've ever seen), but I was embarassed by the 3rd song...ALL THAT BEING SAID, CAUGHT THEM IN VEGAS A FEW NIGHTS LATER AND THEY WERE UNBELIEVABLE!!!! mY FAITH HAS BEEN RESTORED!! WEILAND WAS BADASS AND SPOT ON, SLASH KILLED, DAVE AND DUFF LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE HAVING A BLAST, AND MATT WAS AWESOME AS USUAL! REALLY, REALLY GLAD I SAW THAT SHOW!

I have always been and always will be a Scott Weiland fan/supporter. But last nights show in Phoenix let me feeling a little cheated! Slash was absolutely flawless and unbelievable. I get the feeling he had to be to pick up Weiland's slack. I saw them 3 years ago in Phoenix and Weiland sounded amazing. Last night He was terrible. His timing was way off with the band for the first half of the show, he forgot words from 'Do it for the Kids', and was just off key for alot of the heavy choruses. The band sounded tight as hell though, and I don't think Weiland held up his end at all. This is my favorite band right now, and from what I saw last night I worry that I'll never see them live again. Weiland obviously has some things to still conquer, and I don't think the rest of the band can give him many more chances to do so.... But Slash, Duff, Matt, and Dave...Thanks so much for a great show from you guys!

Velvet performed at Cricket Pavillion in Phoenix on Tuesday Night. It was a great concert. Alice and Chains opened and they haven't missed a beat with the new vocalist taking over for Lane. And Velvet was killer. They just rocked. Is there any guitarist better than Slash? The dude just stands and rocks. And Scott sounded good and had stamina even though it was about 95 degrees at 10pm... they played some STP and GNR soungs including Patience and It's So Easy. One of the best other covers other than Revolvers originals was Floyd's "Heaven and Hell" ... they nailed it. But, again, if you want to see a rock show that actually "rocks" ...this is it. Great show... and on a Tuesday night. I highly recommend seeing them and bring your easy shoes cause you'll be standing and rocking for 3 hours...
